Natalie DuKane, our Lead Facilitator, runs the sessions. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Economics and Dance from the University of Idaho, and has spent 10+ years mentoring youth and families through dance education, leadership programs and community initiatives.
The same facilitator stays with a cohort through its cycle, so children build trust with one adult rather than a rotating team. More about Natalie is on our About page.
Every adult who works with children at The Situation Room completes a Washington State criminal-history background check before their first session. Documentation is available to any enrolled or enrolling family on request.
We carry liability insurance covering all sessions. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
Sessions run as cohorts of 5–10 children. The program is group work by design — there is no format in which your child is alone with an adult, and no one-to-one offering to opt into.
No child is photographed or filmed without written parental consent. Consent is handled through a separate form — we never assume it from our terms, and we never treat enrollment as permission.
Where a photograph of a real session appears on this site, consent is on file for every child in it, and each placement is approved individually rather than as a batch.
The Situation Room is an educational program. We are not a therapy, counseling, medical or mental-health service, and nothing we provide substitutes for professional care. Where that is the right support for a child, we will say so and point you toward it.
Scenario content is age-appropriate and calibrated to each track. It does not include graphic, frightening or adult material.
We collect only what we need to run the program and report your child’s progress to you. Each family sees only their own child’s information, through an invite-only parent portal. We do not sell it and we do not share it with advertisers. The detail is in our privacy policy.
